From what I c...Wow Gab, that taxes the grey cells.<br /><br />From what I can recall, promissory estoppel is an equitable remedy (not to be confused with proprietary estoppel in land).<br /><br />The grey matter tells me (without raching for Nutshells or Chitty) that this was a Denning creation from the second world war - the High Trees case. I seem to recall the facts in that matter were a landlord agreeing to some reduction of rent in war time and then reneging on the promise. The fact that there was a promise, a reliance and a detriment meant that the promise stood. <br /><br />I'm not sure how that would relate to the Dangerous Dogs Act. I can certainly pull up a copy of the Act, from memory, it's mercifully short.
